We've restructured our paid tiers to better match how IoT projects progress. The previous Pro plans (50, 200, and 500 devices) served customers well, but the naming and structure didn't smoothly follow the stages of a deployment.
Now the path is clearer: Prototype is where you build and validate. Production is where you scale. The naming follows the language teams already use when they talk about their projects.
Production uses a simple sliding scale that grows alongside your deployment. It starts at $199/mo for 100 registered devices.
You can see exactly what your deployment will cost at any scale, and upgrade or adjust at any time from your console. Production can go all the way to 2,000 devices at $2,099/mo. Get in touch for plans above 1,000 devices. Annual billing saves 20%.
Existing Pro plans are unaffected. Your pricing, limits, and features stay the same. Pro has been renamed to Prototype for new customers only.
What's the difference between Prototype and Production?
Prototype ($99/month, 50 devices) is for building and validating your product. Production (starting at $199/month, 100+ devices) adds higher device limits, 12-month data retention, SMS alerts, a 99.95% SLA, and same-day support.
What are "registered devices"?
All devices created in your organization, whether currently online or not. Your plan limit is based on total registered devices, not simultaneous connections.
Can I upgrade or downgrade?
Yes, at any time from your account settings. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades apply at the next billing cycle.
Is annual billing available?
Yes. Annual billing saves 20%. Quarterly billing (10% off) is available on Production 100–400.
Do Production plans include SMS?
Yes, through Twilio. You connect your own Twilio account. SMS costs are billed by Twilio directly.
