Cedraz Amado: From Reactive Maintenance to Industrial IoT Monitoring & Failure Prevention

A Brazilian industrial solutions company adds real-time machine monitoring to its offering — and delivers a new category of value to its customers.

Cedraz Amado Soluções Industriais is a Brazilian industrial services company based in Bahia, offering mechanical maintenance, replacement parts supply, and high-resistance polymer coatings for industrial equipment. They have since expanded into sensor-based condition monitoring, giving customers real-time visibility into their equipment and enabling failure prevention before issues escalate.

Cedraz Amado Soluções Industriais has built its reputation on hands-on industrial expertise in Bahia, Brazil. The company delivers mechanical maintenance, replacement parts supply, and high-resistance polymer coatings for industrial equipment — high-stakes services where failure means downtime and cost.

To go further, Cedraz Amado added a fourth service line: continuous, sensor-based condition monitoring delivered via a branded smartphone app. The result is the Cedraz App, available on iOS and Android, giving industrial customers live visibility into their equipment 24/7.

The solution was built by MindTec, a Brazilian IoT development firm, on Blynk.

The Challenge: Moving from Reactive to Predictive

Industrial equipment failure rarely announces itself. Vibration patterns shift gradually, temperatures creep up, humidity drifts outside safe ranges — and by the time a problem is visible, the damage is already done.

Cedraz Amado's goal was to help customers prevent failures entirely, and offer that prevention as a managed service. To do that, they needed to:

  • Monitor equipment continuously between scheduled visits
  • Detect early indicators of wear before they become critical
  • Alert the right people — technicians, supervisors, customers — the moment a threshold is crossed
  • Give customers direct smartphone visibility into their own equipment
  • Scale across multiple sites without rebuilding the system each time

The Solution

Hardware: Vibration, temperature, and humidity sensors; GSM modules; intelligent electrical panels
Connectivity: WiFi (primary); GSM (backup)
Software: Blynk IoT Platform, Enterprise Plan
App: Branded Cedraz App — Google Play & Apple App Store, created with Blynk app builder.

At the core is continuous vibration analysis with spectral frequency detection — identifying fault signatures long before failure occurs. Temperature and humidity monitoring adds environmental context, and when any value crosses a threshold, alerts fire simultaneously via app, SMS, and email.

Redundant connectivity. A dedicated GSM module keeps monitoring running even through local power or network failures — critical in the environments Cedraz Amado serves.

Power interruption detection. The system monitors for electrical outages directly, flagging a common precursor to equipment damage before it cascades.

Access monitoring. Open door alerts add a physical security layer for sensitive equipment areas.

Hierarchical user management. Customers, technicians, and managers each see what's relevant to their role. Automated encrypted reports can be emailed or downloaded with permissions controlled per user.

Remote motor control. Authorized users can intervene via smartphone or computer in emergency situations, without needing to be on site.

Calibration services. Optional on-site calibration ensures vibration, temperature, and humidity readings stay accurate over time — essential for a service where data credibility is the product.

A New Service Relationship

The platform shifts Cedraz Amado from a reactive maintenance vendor to a proactive industrial partner. Instead of being called after something fails, they now have a continuous data channel from every connected machine — and can act on what they see before a crisis develops.

For customers, the Cedraz App delivers something they never had before: a live view of their industrial equipment, from their phones, around the clock. The system scales from a single sensor to thousands of devices across multiple sites, so Cedraz Amado can grow the service as their customer base expands.

Looking Ahead

With the app live on both major stores, Cedraz Amado has a foundation to deepen their predictive maintenance offering as machine data accumulates over time. Combined with their existing expertise in maintenance, parts supply, and protective coatings, the monitoring layer completes a full-lifecycle industrial services offering — a single partner from wear protection to failure prevention.
